A standard unit for tent use consists of a single or triple 3-pin UK socket in an integral distribution box with a 10amp double pole MCB and 25amp RCD. This is connected to a cable with a 240V commando type site plug at the opposite end. These cables and sockets are sold complete at reputable camping outlets.
We would recommend that your cable should be a minimum of 15m long for use on our campsite. The cable has to be long enough that the plug socket/s are inside your tent in a dry position. Purchase a fully weatherproof unit from a reputable supplier.
All electrical appliances used for camping must be low wattage and suitable for low power. Always seek professional advice for safe tent or caravan electrical installations.
Please note that Electric Vehicles must never be charged from our hook up points because they can cause damage to our electrical system. There is a £200 fine for anyone that attempts to charge their vehicle from one of our hook up points – this reflects the high cost of electrical repairs.
The nearest public charging points are in the town car parks in Dartmouth and Kingsbridge.
