Booking Terms and Conditions for Camping

It is recommended that you take out holiday insurance to cover yourself in the event of illness or an event that prevents you from taking your holiday.

Introduction

Sea View Campsite is an all grass pitch family campsite catering for touring caravans/trailer tents/tents/camper vans. It is not suitable for large motorhomes.

Our guests’ enjoyment and safety is paramount and therefore we ask you to read  and agree to the following Terms and Conditions and campsite rules before making your booking.

1. Bookings.

Bookings can be made in the following ways:

Use the website to check availability. Once availability is confirmed, payment may be made online, by bank transfer, or by debit/credit card over the phone.

For an immediate response, phone bookings are also accepted.

Bookings are not transferable to another party.

We cannot guarantee specific pitches, although we do our best, but we reserve the right to move your booking should the need arise.

The person who signs the Booking Form is responsible for the booking and warrants that they are over 18 years of age and will be a member of the party. We  reserve the right to refuse any booking without explanation.

2. The Price Of The Holiday

All Deposits are non-refundable, nor are they transferable to other persons, or alternative dates. Once the deposit is paid we will ensure that our prices will not be subject to any change unless you amend details on the booking form e.g. number of persons, dogs. We don’t charge a fee for amending a booking.

The balance of the price of your holiday must be paid by 28 days before arrival, otherwise we reserve the right to re-let your pitch.

3. Payment On Site

Payment must always be in advance of the nights stayed in cash or by debit card. We cannot accept cheques on site.

4. Cancellation Of The Holiday By You

You may cancel your holiday at any time. No refund of monies will be made. Dates are not transferable.

It is regretted that no refunds can be given if guests depart prior to the end of the booked holiday. Please consider holiday insurance.

5. Late Arrival

If you have booked a pitch, but fail to arrive, you are still liable to pay for all the nights you have booked. If you haven’t phoned or emailed to let us know and received a reply from us in acknowledgement, we reserve the right to re-let your pitch from 8am the morning following your arrival date.

6. Change Or Cancellation Of The Holiday By Us

If we are unable to provide the booked holiday and have had to cancel your booking before the holiday is due to start, you are entitled to a full refund of any money you have paid to us for this booking. This is the extent of our liability.

7. Campsite Rules

Everyone who stays with us must adhere to the Campsite Rules below.

We reserve the right to ask guests who contravene our Campsite Rules or who in any other way are behaving in a manner likely to cause distress or nuisance to other visitors or staff to leave the site immediately. In these circumstances the holiday ceases and we shall not be liable for any extra costs incurred by you, neither will you be eligible for a refund of any monies already paid.

7.1 Holiday Behaviour Standards And Termination

By making a booking with us you have entered a contract in which you undertake, on behalf of yourself and the people in your party (including children), to adopt the following standards of behaviour:

  • To act in a courteous and considerate manner towards us, our staff and other guests and not use offensive language.
  • Treat the campsite, buildings and the surrounding land with care and respect.
  • To supervise children and understand that the safety of children is the responsibility of their parents/guardians.
  • Keep your pitch clean and tidy and dispose of any rubbish in the waste and recycling bins provided. Please note that we are unable to dispose of items other than normal household waste so any bulky items such as chairs, tables, tents, gazebos, body boards, airbeds, duvets etc can be taken to the local recycling centre at Torr Quarry (TQ9 7QQ).
  • After 10pm please respect your fellow guests by keeping noise to an absolute minimum. Any amplified devices should be inaudible from adjacent pitches. Where possible, use headphones or earphones. Quiet hours are from 11.00pm until 7.00am.
  • If a member of staff needs to ask you to modify your behaviour or actions, then you do so without argument.
  • In the interests of all visitors, we reserve the right to refuse to hand over any pitch or the static caravan to any person or groups of persons at our discretion. In such cases, all site fees paid will be refunded in full but that will be the extent of our liability.
  • If, in our opinion, any person is not suitable to continue the holiday because of unreasonable behaviour, damage to property or annoyance to other holidaymakers, we reserve the right to exclude the holiday party from the campsite. In this event, the hirer shall remain liable for the hire price and no refund shall be due.
  • Any damage caused to property must be paid for by the person who causes the damage or the person responsible for them.

7.2 Vehicles

We take the well being and safety of our guests very seriously and we ask that you comply with the following:

  • DRIVERS  – Drive with care. The speed limit on the park is strictly 5 mph. This applies to both the track and the fields.
  • All vehicles must conform to the Road Traffic Act and have current tax, MOT and insurance.
  • Anyone driving on the campsite must hold a valid driving licence and be an insured driver. Strictly NO CHILDREN at the steering wheel of any moving motor vehicle.
  • In the event of poor/wet weather we may ask you to limit vehicle movement on the camping field to minimise slippery conditions and mud.

7.3 Campfires/Barbecues/Firepits

  • As an all grass site we are very mindful of the danger of fire. We want everyone to enjoy their barbecue or firepit safely. Staff will check fires and barbecues to ensure that they are fully extinguished with water at the end of the evening.
  • Before lighting your firepit please be aware of the position of the fire points and have a bucket of water ready to deal with any fire accident and to extinguish your fire when it is no longer required.
  • All fires and barbecues must be fully extinguished by 11pm. No fires or barbecues are allowed between 11pm and 7am.
  • Ground level camp fires and barbecues are not permitted, except in our designated fire pit area (please ask if you are unsure where this is).
  • Raised Barbecues and Small bowl Firepits are usually permitted (weather dependant) They must be at least 15cm above the grass to avoid scorching it and must be of a type that contains all ash to prevent it from dropping onto the ground. They must be positioned well away from tents and vehicles and be a minimum of 3m from hedges and fences.
  • No braziers.
  • Fires and barbecues must be supervised at all times – never left unattended!
  • We only allow charcoal and seasoned/kiln dried wood to be burnt on site.
  • We provide blocks for putting under disposable barbecues to prevent them scorching the grass. Please ensure that you return them after use.
  • We are mindful of the safety of our customers and their equipment and will ask that a barbecue/firepit is re-sited or extinguished if we believe it to be a danger or nuisance.
  • Ash, coals and disposable barbecues must NEVER be disposed of on site other than in the steel bin which is provided for their safe disposal.
  • Barbecues should never be taken into a tent, caravan awning etc. due to the danger from Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
  • Occasionally there will be periods when, for safety reasons, we don’t allow the use of Barbecues and Firepits – for example in very dry, or windy weather. We apologise if this affects your stay, but safety is paramount.

7.4 Kites

  • No Kite flying is permitted in the small camping field because of the danger from the nearby overhead power lines. The larger fields are, however, excellent for kite flying.

7.5 Dogs

If you bring your dog with you when you stay with us we ask that you:

  • Keep the dog on a lead on the campsite at all times.
  • Always clean up after your dog.  Bins for waste are provided in the dog walking area and also near the toilets.
  • Exercise the dog off site or in the designated dog exercise area- 11 acres adjacent to the campsite.
  • Do not leave your dog unattended at any time.
  • Dogs are not permitted in the amenity blocks.
  • We reserve the right to require that the owner removes their dog, or any other pet, from the campsite if we believe it to be a nuisance or danger to other guests.

7.6 Electric Hook Ups

  • All units using electricity or on a pitch supplied with an electric hook up, must pay for the hook up supply – sharing of supply (or use of splitters) is not permitted.
  • All cables connecting to the Electric Hook-Up units (EHU’s) must be suitable for outdoor connection. For tents, the hook-up cable must be sufficiently long to reach inside your tent.  A 10m long EHU cable is the bare minimum length we would recommend.
  • At this time we have no facility for recharging electric vehicles. They must not be connected to campsite hook ups as they could cause damage to our equipment. Failure to comply with this will result in a fine of £200.

7.7 General

  • Cutting or damaging trees and other vegetation is strictly prohibited.
  • The use of generators is not permitted.
  • No flying of drones or other radio controlled devices is permitted in any of our fields.
  • No fireworks or Chinese lanterns.
  • Electric scooters, Segways, or any other types of PLEV (Powered Light Electric Vehicle) must not be used anywhere on the campsite. (Mobility scooters can of course be used as can electric-assisted bicycles).
  • Please inform reception of any visitors who come to see you on site. Visitors may only be on site between 9.00 and 22.00.
  • The information supplied on the Booking Form will be stored on computer for our administrative purposes only. Under no circumstances will this information be provided to a third party unless we are required to do so by law.
  • We do not store credit or debit card information. This information is directly entered into the payment processing terminal to take a payment and is never held by us.

7.8 Pitches And Arrival/Departure

  • All of our pitches are generously sized. Your unit must be positioned within your allocated pitch, allowing a 3m firebreak to the next pitch.
  • Should your unit be extra large please let us know so that we give you an appropriate space.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 12pm, unless by prior arrangement, as your pitch may not be available before this time. Latest arrival time is 8pm. If we have not heard from you within 12 hours of your expected arrival we reserve the right to re-let your pitch and your booking will be treated as a cancellation.
  • All pitches must be vacated by 12pm on the day of your departure otherwise an additional night’s pitch fee may be charged. If you wish to stay longer then please first check with a member of staff that your pitch is not booked.
  • Every endeavour will be made to allocate guests to the pitch of their choice, however, it must be clearly understood that acceptance of a booking is not conditional on the allocation of a particular pitch.
  • Campers must report to reception on arrival to be shown to their pitch. There is often a choice of pitches, but if it is busy then some pitches may be allocated. If this is the case your pitch number and directions to it will be confirmed on arrival. If you are in any doubt whether you are on the right pitch please check with a member of staff. Any guest on the wrong pitch may be required to move.
  • The camper is responsible for ensuring that their equipment is appropriately robust enough and well enough secured for their own safety and the safety of others on the site.
  • Maximum length of stay is 28 days, but if you are staying beyond 14 days in a tent or unit with an awning, you may be asked to move your unit to avoid long term damage to the grass pitch.
  • We reserve the right to promptly remove and dispose of any property left on the campsite, where the pitch has not been paid for in advance or where the guest has been asked to vacate the pitch.

7.9 Rule Changes

  • We reserve the right to amend the rules at any time.

7.10 Liability

  • We shall not be liable for the death or injury of any person howsoever caused, illness, inconvenience or misadventure.
  • Your vehicles, their contents and accessories, your luggage and personal belongings are left entirely at your own risk. We will not be held responsible for any loss of or damage to or theft of property including vehicles and boats.
  • We shall not be liable for the unavailability of any service or facility, and any inconvenience or financial loss incurred, if it is due to circumstances beyond the control of the management,

7.11 Complaints And Problems

  • If you have a complaint or problem during your holiday please raise it with us immediately so that we can sort it out before it spoils your holiday.
